Epiphany

When I went into the garden this morning to water the sunflower seeds, I was greeted by this:

Sunflowers, at least those I've planted, always sprout and bloom on special days. Today, 6th of January is the Epiphany; it is the Twelfth Day, the final day of Christmas; the day when Christmas decorations are traditionally to be taken down; the day when it is believed the three wise men dropped off their gifts for the Christ child; in Spain on this day the three wise men leave gifts for children, as 'Santa' would.
Since these are flowers of enlightenment, that other meaning of Epiphany is fitting: "a sudden realisation or comprehension of the essence or meaning of something. The term is used in either a philosophical or literal sense to signify that the claimant has "found the last piece of the puzzle and now sees the whole picture," or has new information or experience, often insignificant by itself, that illuminates a deeper or numinous foundational frame of reference."
