Fire works for 2007 and beyond

As I write this, 2007 is here. In some places it's not 2007 yet. Others have been there a few hours now. After a lovely intimate Fire Gathering (from 6 - 8 p.m.-ish) with a few friends, I was exhausted and fell asleep ... only to be awakened at midnight by fireworks.

I'm not a fan of fireworks because of how they terrify animals (the amount of lost or dead dogs and cats on the streets the day after is so unnecessary). Old people are also affected. However, looking at the word in another way: in terms of our wishes, prayers, goals and things-to-let-go-of that we threw into the flames last night/last year, we each were convinced that fire works.
